Founder
Tyler Jones founded Blazer-Jones consulting after years of experience in development, construction, and urban planning. His career began at the intersection of theory and practice: studying architecture while self-funding his education through hands-on trade work. This early immersion provided a critical realization—that true influence over the built environment requires mastering not just the design, but the physical and financial execution.

After college, Tyler worked in Chicago and then Detroit for 2 general contractors, building a strong base of construction knowledge. He then joined a preeminent real estate firm in Detroit, where he managed complex, landmark adaptive reuse projects. During this pivotal period, he expanded his strategic scope by earning a Master’s degree in Urban Planning. This academic focus on urban systems, combined with his boots-on-the-ground experience, allowed him to transition into high-level development roles in Detroit and then back in Chicago.

Now based in Chicago, Tyler brings that institutional-grade experience to clients across the US. With BlazerJones, he synthesizes his design acumen, planning perspective, and vast construction knowledge to serve as a comprehensive partner—helping owners ensure every project meets its maximum potential.

Tyler is passionate about buildings, the urban context of them, and the social uses they provide. He is actively involved in his community as well, serving as the Director of Development for South Loop Neighbors.
